[It sure is a night. Kim might be out here on the piers smoking, but he won't be the only one - a puff of smoke is what announces the rival of a certain other detective, in collared shirt and loose pants. He's got his pipe in his mouth, glancing around at the scene - in one hand is a wine bottle, though only 1/3 of it has been drunk.]
[He smiles at the other man.]
What a lovely night. It begs for the sweet song of a violin.
[Well, here's Sholmes! Except...something might be different, here. He's walking along, Irene at his feet in beagle form, but...he stumbles, suddenly, but is able to right himself before he falls.]
I'm much more stable if I'm dancing...
[His voice is a little slow? But what's more noticeable, however, is the wine bottle in his hand.]
[These strange sounds. These dancing people. This odd scene. It all seems like some fever dream to this man from a time long gone, and he blinks as it all fades away.]
[He tilts his hat, regarding the detective for a moment.]
[He's sitting in the gardens. Like right on the ground, ice pack held to his head. When he looks up, he looks...well, exhausted as anyone would, perhaps, after everything.]
Not quite, Lieutenant. [He winces.] But at least I'm wide awake, compared with most of the day.
[The lieutenant looks up, holding a hand over his brow to shield his eyes from the sun, and confirm that... yep, that sure is Sholmes up on the big skull. Cecile, as a skua, drifts upward in the air, as if to meet him, but then circles right back to Kim. For once, he isn't wearing his signature jacket, but instead has picked up a vest in the local style to wear over his white T-shirt.]
Yes, very different from what we've seen until now. I'm sure it's a great view from up there, too.
But do you really think you should be climbing things like this, after what happened with the tree last weekend?
[These two are in the same house, so on Wednesday, Kim waves Sholmes over to meet him inside his room.]
You were interested in Mr. Houzuki's account of last Thursday's events, correct? I can give you the report now.
[And he'll just open his notebook and get right into it.]
In short, Suigetsu killed Revali. He set a trap somewhere near the fountain using wire and memory shards, which caught and wounded the victim. However, Revali used a power to move "really freaking fast", and they ran through the city as they fought.
It might have been at this time that Revali left his message in the butcher shop... It doesn't seem like Suigetsu went in there.
Their confrontation ended back in the gardens. Suigetsu threw a knife, which struck Revali's daemon and killed it. He then dumped the body in the canal and returned to the mansion.
[Hey, Kim. Sholmes is here, lack of hand and all, just. Sitting at a chair. He's puffing away at a pipe, looking like at any moment he's ready to stand and run all over like a chicken with its head cut off.]
[When he sees Kim, though, he just nods. Irene as a crow squawks at him.]
I...have some good news, and some bad news, Lieutenant.
[Kim's got his hands in his pockets, feeling for something. Cecile is once again on his shoulder in the form of a bandicoot. He looks over, trying not to look too grim as he returns the nod.]
[He catches sight of the figure of the Lieutenant, and beelines towards him. This has been...a stressful last several days. The detective reaches for his shoulder to lightly touch it, trying to get his attention.]
[Kim's just finishing refueling one of the vehicles. He's got three pulled out in front of the storage building. He looks up from where he's finished securing the fuel cap.]
Snowmobile. For quick travel across snowy areas like this.
[Well, for all his god killer talk before, a certain someone is sitting in the chapel.]
[He has his eyes closed, his hands clasped in his lap.]
[Even though he's sitting calmly, the tension in his shoulders is as stiff as stiff can be. Irene in crow form on his shoulder caws as Kim approaches.]
[Kim looks like he probably didn't sleep much last night. Despite the bags under his eyes, he still stands straight, as if he himself doesn't notice his own exhaustion. Cecile follows, perching on a nearby sculpture as a great skua.
[Here Sholmes is, wherever Kim is. He's brought a cup of tea for him, sitting down on the couch or whatever he's resting on. His expression is one of sincere concern.]
Are you feeling better? This is for you, by the way. Be careful. It's hot.
[Sure, let's say it's a couch. He's been napping on and off, it seems, but the sound of Sholmes approaching gets his eyes open again and he shifts up into a proper sitting position. Cecile, who was resting on his chest, hops up onto his shoulder.
He's removed the cloaks and his jacket, and changed into a clean T-shirt. His right arm has a few bandages along the forearm, while the left is heavily bandaged over the stump. It looks like a little colour has returned to his face.]
I appreciate it. [He takes the teacup. A moment passes, and he processes that he was asked a question.] The healing helped.
[Sometime after town hall, Kim's sitting on a large rock a little ways past the main cave entrance, having a cigarette. His notebook is open in his lap. With his one arm, it seems he has to keep swapping between the cigarette and the pen. It's a bit of a pain. When he sees Sholmes nearby, he greets him with a wave of the cigarette.]
